Tara and Dapo’s wedding
{St John’s The Evangilist, Porchester Hall, Bayswater}

Last Saturday was another trip up the motorway to London and this time it was to photograph Tara and Dapo’s wedding and lively celebrations.  The morning began with Earle dropping me off with Tara in north London to photograph her preparations with her bridesmaids while Earle made his way south again to the church of St John’s the Evangilist where he was due to meet with Dapo and all their guests as they arrived for the ceremony.

We always love the vibrancy and energy which accompanies nigerian wedding celebrations and this wedding was no exception, after the ceremony the customary procession of wellwishers dancing up the aisle to the bride and groom was a joy to see and the dancing bearly stopped for the rest of the day.  Photographing the bridal train, the two families each taking their turn in dancing into the wedding breakfast is always a favourite moment of ours and the space in The Porchester Hall allowed the trains the best possible entrance.  The talented singers from Elegant Entertainment provided some wonderful entertainment during the wedding breakfast performing their own act as singing waiters which delighted everyone before the evening party was started with Tara and Dapo thoroughly enjoying their first dance together.

Earle and I send our congratulations to Tara and Dapo on their marriage and wish you both a long and happy life together, we have selected some images from the day for you to enjoy while we prepare the proofs.  Please feel free to join in with our blog and leave a comment if you wish.

Sarah and Andrew’s wedding
{St Peters Church, Iver and Pinewood Hotel}

An early start for us on the motorway as we headed up to the outskirts of London to Iver, where Sarah and Andy were marrying in St Peters Church.  We knew exactly the lay of the land as we had been in the very same area for another wedding in the family earlier this year and we were really looking forward to seeing many wonderful people again.  All the preparations went to plan and Sarah was ready to leave for church in plenty of time.

Sarah and Andy’s wedding will always be remembered by Earle and me as ‘the sticky bun wedding’ owing to the entertaining sermon from Brian Griffiths, the minister conducting their ceremony.   We  have never witnessed so much laughter in a church and it set the scene beautifully for the reception celebrations over at the Pinewood Hotel

It was a great day, filled with fun and joy from beginning to end, we have had great fun choosing which are our favourite images to show here on our blog and if you would like to join in by leaving  a comment we will be delighted!   Earle and I send our very best wishes to Sarah and Andy and warmest congratulations on your marriage.

Becca and Justin’s wedding
{New Place, Southampton & HMS Warrior, Portsmouth}

London based,  Becca and Justin’s wedding day was always going to be remarkable not least due to the secrecy surrounding the actual wedding venue!  The meeting place for everyone including the bride and groom was the lovely Southampton DeVere venue of New Place so this of course is where Earle and I headed off to for the start of our day.

I found Becca in her room with her mother and bridesmaids where they were being beautifully looked after by Michelle and Jo, hair and make up artists.  The celebratory atmosphere was already in full swing and the girls all looking fabulous.  Earle was elsewhere in the grounds of New Place with Justin who gathered all the wedding guests together to ‘make an announcement’.  Big grins on my face as I write this remembering how Earle regaled the story of faces reacting to this unusual turn of events…the announcement was to let everyone know the wedding venue was not in fact New Place but HMS Warrior and the transport was awaiting!

With everyone safely en route to HMS Warrior Becca and her party were able to emerge from their room and make their way to the ship in good time for the ceremony.  It is occassions like this where the relationship Earle and I share is so perfect in our work, the trust and working knowledge worked a dream, Earle met us all at the entrance to the Warrior and seamlessly took over the bridal photography while I raced ahead and found my position in the ceremonial area which in this case was sandwiched between a porthole and very large cannon!   The registrars complimented the warmly excited atmosphere with a beautifully conducted ceremony and after two readings it was time to sign the registers and out on deck for a drinks reception and formal photographs before the wedding breakfast and celebratory dancing with a Ceilidh band.

It has been a truly remarkable day which gave the opportunity for some unique photography, Earle and I congratulate Becca and Justin on all their amazing planning and more especially their marriage.  We have selected a few images from the day as a little taster while we prepare the proofs, if you see something you like or just want to join in our blog please feel free to add your comment.

Sam and Matt’s wedding
{Heatherden Hall, Pinewood Studios}

Early start today to ensure we arrived at the Pinewood Hotel in plenty of time for Sam’s preparations with her nearest and dearest girlfriends and family.   It was yet another glorious morning and the drive up towards London was soon done giving Earle and I time for a coffee and gather our thoughts for the day ahead.

The girls were in their room, I love that time when I can just dip into all that girlie chatter and excitement, capturing the essence of the atmosphere and then moving on to quieter areas with the bride while she completes her final preparations.  Sam had a lovely bridal suite and this is where she opted to have her hair and makeup done before her mum and aunt arrived to help her into her beautiful wedding gown.

Earle and the boys met quite close by, once the boys were suited and booted they all made their way to Pinewood Studios and Heatherden Hall , the lovely manor house within the grounds of this infamous film studio.  Matt and their guests were seated in the ceremony room which looked marvellously colonial with all the french windows flung open to let a cooling breeze through whilst reavealing the calming view into the gardens,  Sam and her father followed the bridesmaids up the aisle and we all enjoyed a particularly animated and emotional ceremony.

While the guests made the most of the sunshine during the drinks reception we spent a short time with Matt and Sam to photograph them alone together around Pinewood Studios before the formal photographs were completed and the wedding breakfast was to begin.  Sam and Matt had hired the candleabras we have available and their florist had done a brilliant job of adorning them for the table centrepieces giving the ballroom a truly grand air with the wood panelling and stunning chandeliers.

As the afternoon turned to evening the weather began to change with thundery rain moving in, but this did not matter one jot as the party was due to begin with a huge number of guests arriving to join the music and dancing provided by Matt and his friends, some of London’s very best DJ’s and musicians.  Sam’s surprise for the evening (after the biggest, explosive blast of confetti during the first dance we have EVER seen) was arranged by Matt and as he introduced Mark Shaw lead singer of  ’80’s band ‘Then Jericho’ onto the stage to sing just for her…. the whole place went wild!!

Sam and Matt we send you our warmest congratulations on your marriage and a wonderful wedding day, we have chosen a few images from the day for you to enjoy while we organise your proofs.  If anyone would like to join in with our blog and leave a comment that would be great:-)

Emma and Naomi’s civil partnership
{Oaks Farm Weddings, Surrey}

There was a drive east again for us to meet Emma and Naomi at Oaks Farm in Surrey, the location for their civil ceremony.  They had been able to use the lovely cottage in the grounds for their preparations so Earle and I drove straight there to meet the girls and be on hand to photograph the guests upon their arrival.  The day was perfect with late autumn sun beaming down onto Oaks Farm a little gem of tranquility minutes away from Croydon and the excitement of everyone arriving was only outshone by the excitement of Emma and Naomi themselves.

It has to be said the ceremony has to be one of the most emotional ones we have witnessed with even the registrar appearing to wipe a tear away from her face during one of the readings there was barely a dry eye in the house!  The tears were of course all the product of pure happiness as reflected by Emma and Naomi skipping down the aisle together upon the conclusion of the formalities.  A relaxed drinks reception preceeded the wedding breakfast and highly entertaining speeches from the two bestwomen then into the evening party with the dance floor full the entire night the whole evening raced by.

Earle and I send our warmest congratulations to Emma and Naomi, it was wonderful to see you again, to be part of the team contributing to your celebrations and we must thank Steff for recommending us so fervently!!!!  We have chosen a few of our favourite images which we hope reflect the relaxed and joyful nature of your celebrations.

We always welcome feedback on our blog so please feel free to add your thoughts.
