Lauren and John’s wedding
{Christchurch Priory and Captain’s Club}

What a perfect day this Friday the 13th was for Lauren and John’s marriage at the stunning Christchurch Priory and the very beautiful riverside venue of Captain’s Club in Christchurch.  The flowers all looked beautiful and the team at Captain’s Club were all very excited and delighted with the finished look of their venue for Lauren and John who had focused very strongly on English tradition and summer time colours giving the most perfect feel to their entire day. Michael Judd was as always wonderful in his role at Toastmaster and made sure everything ran completely smoothly.

We were delighted to have the opportunity to pop along to Hengistbury Head with Lauren and John later in the day for a few minutes to capture some images of them on the beach and Cliffside which we are confident will contrast beautifully with the images earlier in the day around the grounds of the Priory.

Earle and I send Lauren and John our warmest congratulations and wish them many years of very happy marriage.  We have selected some of our favourite images for your enjoyment while we complete the post production for the proofs.

Gemma and Alex’s wedding
{Christchurch Priory and Captain’s Club}

Earle was not due to meet Alex until 11.00 and all our locations for Gemma and Alex’s wedding day were very close to each other so we thought it would be fun for Earle to come with me to see Gemma and the girls at Scissors in Christchurch and join in with some of their preparation photographs.  There was plenty of space there so we didn’t step on each others toes too much:-)  Our dear friend and much trusted make up artist Robyn Vallender was there also so the team was in place for all the girls to look their very best.

Next stop for Earle was Christchurch Priory where Alex was due to arrive with his family ready to greet the wedding guests, while I followed the girls back to Gemma’s family riverside home where the final preparations were taking place, dresses, shoes, flowers by Maria in Southbourne all set out and ready to go and in no time at all the bridesmaids were ready, the flower girls arrived, parent’s fully organised and Gemma was having the final touches to her veil and gown.

Spot on midday Gemma’s father walked her up the long aisle of this glorious church to where  Alex was waiting for her and their marriage ceremony could begin.  The wonderful music was accompanied by The Bournemouth Symphony Chorus Wedding Choir adding huge atmosphere to a very beautiful ceremony.  Outside the weather was being relatively well behaved, the sun shone and the plans for all the guests to arrive at the Captain’s Club by river ferry were going to be fulfilled while we photographed Gemma and Alex around the Christchurch Ruins, a favourite location for them both.  It was then their turn for the river ferry to be greeted by their guests who were enjoying drinks and canapes on the terrace.

With early evening drawing on and the wedding breakfast and speeches completed the casino was running for some after dinner entertainment.  Alex’s family are Viva Las Vegas, who we have met several times before and their casino always proves to be hugely popular and naturally no exception here!  The later evening was greeted with the four piece vocal harmony group The Imaginations kicking things off providing the music for Gemma and Alex’s first dance and rest of the night.  Wonderful fun and a packed dance floor!!!

It’s been a great day to be part of, we wish Gemma and Alex all the happiness for their life together.  Thank you both for your very kind hospitality.  We have chosen a few of our favourite images for you all to enjoy while the proofing is completed.  We always welcome comments from our readers here, please join in and click on the comments box below.

Jules and Cos wedding
{Tyrells Ford, Avon}

We have worked with Jules for a number of years now at many weddings, she is the very talented lady who owns Jules Florist.  When Jules and Cos decided that if they were to have a wedding photographer it was going to have to be Earle and Jane, we were thrilled to accept and have been looking forward to our dear friends wedding day ever since the date was set:-)

Robyn Vallender was all organised to see Jules and her bridesmaids for the preparations in the bridal room at the Tyrells Ford and without a doubt when the girls walked into the ceremony room Cos was one extremely happy man!!!  Jules of course had organised all the flowers throughout and everywhere looked totally stunning.  Their marriage ceremony was beautifully emotional, full of laughter and tears of joy.

The early evening sun was shining as Jules and Cos greeted their guests outside for their drinks reception before the evening continued in the dining room and everyone was seated to enjoy a relaxed meal and partytime.

A perfect day for Jules and Cos which we were thrilled to be part of.  Enjoy your photographs, a few of our favourites are here while we complete the full edit.

Fiona and Karl’s wedding
{St Aldhelms Church and Parley Manor}

Fiona and Karl travelled from their Ascot home to marry in Fiona’s birthplace and childhood home on the borders of  Poole and Bournemouth and Dorset’s south coast was at its best for their wedding day.  Karl was spending the morning of his wedding day with his family and friends at a local hotel which is where Earle met him while I made my way to see Fiona and her bridesmaids at her parents home for their preparations before leaving spot on time for the wedding ceremony at St Aldhelms Church in Poole.

Parley Manor was the next stop for us all and how extraordinarily pretty the gardens were looking after the overnight rain refreshed all the abundant flora and fauna.  The drinks reception and wedding breakfast was enjoyed for the afternoon and by early evening we were on our way to the beach with Fiona and Karl and a bit of fun with them dodging the sea and climbing on rocks.  On our return from our little photographic expedition the evening party was ready to start with the new Mr & Mrs Lord kicking things off with their first dance ably assisted by their two youngest bridesmaids Grace and Ava.

Earle and I send our warmest congratulations to Fiona and Karl on your marriage and hope you enjoy this selection of images from your wedding day.   Please feel free to add a comment by clicking on the box below, we love hearing from you:-)

Alice and Rob’s wedding
{St Lukes, Burton and The Chine, Bournemouth}

Alice and Rob’s wedding ceremony was taking place in Burton, Christchurch at St Lukes Church very close to his family home and this is where Earle met Rob earlier in the morning to photograph their final preparations and short walk to the church opposite the village green.  I travelled across to Southbourne where Rob and Alice live to meet with Alice and her family before they left for the short car journey to Burton.  The beautiful warm spring weather enabled the roof to be down on the wonderful wedding car supplied by Barnes Wedding Cars and the driver performed nothing short of a small miracle by delivering Alice and her Father to church despite the unfortunate traffic chaos in the area that day.  So if you see a chauffeur around wearing a large feather in his cap this will probably be your man – he deserves it:-)

With the sun pouring in through the church windows Alice and Rob’s marriage ceremony took place, the Reverand Surman was wonderfully welcoming to us all contributing to the best possible atmosphere for this lovely occassion.  Time flew by and the final prayers completed Alice and Rob made their way down the aisle and out of the church as Mr and Mrs Angel and were soon being congratulated by all their guests with a massive flurry of confetti flying through the air before they left in the wedding car for Hengistbury Head where we were to meet them for some photography on the cliffs and beach while everyone else made their way to the Chine Hotel in Bournemouth for the wedding reception.

We had a great time with Alice and Rob on location, we love this part of our coastline and manage to create something different on each occassion, it is of particular significance to Alice and Rob so it was all the more delightful to be there with them on their wedding day.  All too soon though we had to take our leave and make our way along the coast road to the hotel and guests where Alice and Rob were greeted with champagne.  There was just enough time to complete the formal photographs before everyone was due inside for the wedding breakfast and speeches.

The evening party kicked off after dark with a brilliant first dance from the bride and groom which was immediately followed by the dance floor being packed with people ready to party!

It had been a perfectly lovely day, Earle and I send our very best wishes to Alice and Rob with our thanks for your kind hospitality.  We have selected a few images from your wedding day for you to enjoy while all your proofs are prepared.  We are always pleased to hear from people who see something they like so please click on the comment button and contribute to the Concept Blog.

Claire and Lewis’ wedding
{Christchurch Priory and Splinter’s Restaurant}

Claire’s childhood home and life was spent in beautiful Christchurch and it was here she and Lewis decided to marry, so the journey was made all the way from Edinburgh to Dorset for their intimate and emotional wedding ceremony and reception.  We had put Claire in touch with Folio make up artist Robyn Vallender who was pleased to help with the bridal preparations.

Earle and I met with Lewis, his family and friends before the ceremony in Soho a great little bar just down the pathway from Christchurch Priory where they all enjoyed a quick drink while organising all their buttonholes.  It was not long before Lewis was making his way to the Priory to welcome their guests and Claire’s arrival.

Christchurch Priory is a huge church which has a beautiful little chapel beyond the main worshipping area known as ‘The Lady Chapel’ and this is where Claire and Lewis’ wedding ceremony took place with their close family and friends.  Amid beaming smiles and a glorious walk down the main aisle of the Priory Claire and Lewis emerged into the sunshine and congratulatory cheers.

Once we had completed the ‘formal’ family group photographs the guests walked the few yards along to Splinters Restaurant where the reception was taking place, Claire and Lewis came with us for a short while to be photographed in and around the grounds of the Priory.   Claire has many happy memories of this area and it was great news for her that we were able to plan some photography here while their guests were enjoying the drinks reception.  As always the time raced on and all too quickly we had to make our way back to the guests so everyone could sit down to enjoy the wonderful wedding breakfast and entertaining speeches, however we were to get a second bite of the cherry with Claire and Lewis after the reception in the evening light at one of our favourite locations just outside of Christchurch.  It was here we enjoyed the full benefit of Claire’s perfectly gorgeous ‘Dorothy’-esque shoes – the Wizard of Oz influence was sublime given Lewis’ incredible skills as a magician.

Earle and I send our warmest congratulations to you both, Claire and Lewis along with our sincere thanks for your hospitality.  A perfect day for you both with your Edinburgh celebrations and party to look forward too we are posting a selection of images from your wedding day in Christchurch for you to enjoy.

If you see something you like here please feel free to join us all on the blog and add your comment.
