Lauren and John’s wedding
{Christchurch Priory and Captain’s Club}

What a perfect day this Friday the 13th was for Lauren and John’s marriage at the stunning Christchurch Priory and the very beautiful riverside venue of Captain’s Club in Christchurch.  The flowers all looked beautiful and the team at Captain’s Club were all very excited and delighted with the finished look of their venue for Lauren and John who had focused very strongly on English tradition and summer time colours giving the most perfect feel to their entire day. Michael Judd was as always wonderful in his role at Toastmaster and made sure everything ran completely smoothly.

We were delighted to have the opportunity to pop along to Hengistbury Head with Lauren and John later in the day for a few minutes to capture some images of them on the beach and Cliffside which we are confident will contrast beautifully with the images earlier in the day around the grounds of the Priory.

Earle and I send Lauren and John our warmest congratulations and wish them many years of very happy marriage.  We have selected some of our favourite images for your enjoyment while we complete the post production for the proofs.

Gemma and Alex’s wedding
{Christchurch Priory and Captain’s Club}

Earle was not due to meet Alex until 11.00 and all our locations for Gemma and Alex’s wedding day were very close to each other so we thought it would be fun for Earle to come with me to see Gemma and the girls at Scissors in Christchurch and join in with some of their preparation photographs.  There was plenty of space there so we didn’t step on each others toes too much:-)  Our dear friend and much trusted make up artist Robyn Vallender was there also so the team was in place for all the girls to look their very best.

Next stop for Earle was Christchurch Priory where Alex was due to arrive with his family ready to greet the wedding guests, while I followed the girls back to Gemma’s family riverside home where the final preparations were taking place, dresses, shoes, flowers by Maria in Southbourne all set out and ready to go and in no time at all the bridesmaids were ready, the flower girls arrived, parent’s fully organised and Gemma was having the final touches to her veil and gown.

Spot on midday Gemma’s father walked her up the long aisle of this glorious church to where  Alex was waiting for her and their marriage ceremony could begin.  The wonderful music was accompanied by The Bournemouth Symphony Chorus Wedding Choir adding huge atmosphere to a very beautiful ceremony.  Outside the weather was being relatively well behaved, the sun shone and the plans for all the guests to arrive at the Captain’s Club by river ferry were going to be fulfilled while we photographed Gemma and Alex around the Christchurch Ruins, a favourite location for them both.  It was then their turn for the river ferry to be greeted by their guests who were enjoying drinks and canapes on the terrace.

With early evening drawing on and the wedding breakfast and speeches completed the casino was running for some after dinner entertainment.  Alex’s family are Viva Las Vegas, who we have met several times before and their casino always proves to be hugely popular and naturally no exception here!  The later evening was greeted with the four piece vocal harmony group The Imaginations kicking things off providing the music for Gemma and Alex’s first dance and rest of the night.  Wonderful fun and a packed dance floor!!!

It’s been a great day to be part of, we wish Gemma and Alex all the happiness for their life together.  Thank you both for your very kind hospitality.  We have chosen a few of our favourite images for you all to enjoy while the proofing is completed.  We always welcome comments from our readers here, please join in and click on the comments box below.

Emma and Mark’s wedding
(Captains Club Hotel, Christchurch)

What a perfect way to spend a Friday… photographing Emma and Mark’s beautiful wedding at the chic and tranquil Captains Club Hotel situated the banks of the River Stour in Christchurch on the Dorset/Hampshire borders.

Mark had arranged that he would meet Earle at the Captain’s Club rather than at home, so Earle had the opportunity to join me for a short while with Emma and the girls who were preparing in one of the hotel’s stylish suites while he waited for Mark to arrive in time for a drink in the bar and in plenty of time to greet their guests.

With all the girls ready including Emma and Mark’s two adorable little daughters Olivia and Amelie, we made our way down to the ceremony.  Olivia and Amelie were walked in with two of Emma’s close friends, closely followed by Emma and her Father.  The emphasis for Emma and Mark’s wedding day was to keep everything very relaxed and as informal as possible.  The  lovely registrar’s reflected this perfectly along with Mark’s brother (Best Man) who added his own gregarious influence to the mix much to everyones amusement.

Partytime, celebratory champagne and more drinks on the riverside while the barbeque was cooking.  Emma and Mark enjoyed socialising for a while before we popped off with them for a very short break away for some romantic photography on the nearby coastline making sure they were back spot on time for the yummy food feast.

We were really pleased to have the opportunity to whizz off again later in the evening once the evening party was underway to spend a little more time with Emma and Mark in and around Christchurch for a few more personalised photographs which we knew were going to be incredibly important to them both.  I think it is safe to say all four of us had a simply great time out and about causing a bit of a stir on the streets of Christchurch!  All in all a really memorable day.

Thank you Mark and Emma for your wonderful hospitality and placing your trust in us, it had been a priviledge to be part of your wedding team.  Earle and I hope you enjoy the images selected here and we look forward to having all the others ready for you very soon.  Don’t miss the comments box people….it loves being used!
