What a perfect start to a super day, the sun was shining and a light breeze in the air as I left home for a very short trip down the road to the home of Amy’s parents where the preparations for this lovely wedding day were taking place with Amy and her family and bridesmaids. Michelle was already there taking wonderful care of all things closely and remotely to do with hair styling. I always love working with Michelle, her enthusiasm, skill and energy is legendary and the fact we photographed her marriage to David and then her sister Sally’s to Chris made today all the more special as Amy is sister to Chris and we already had come to know her and Groom Chris well.
Earle was due to meet Chris and the boys down at the Sandacres on Sandbanks peninsular at 11.00 am where they all enjoyed a little relaxation and ‘bonding’ time before walking along to The Church of Transfiguration just up the hill from the peninsular.
Everything at the house went very smoothly, working perfectly to Amy’s carefully planned timings and we were all ready for the drivers of the wonderful wedding cars to transport Amy and her party to the church in good time. The Church of Transfiguration is a relatively modern church and can provide an enviable amount of beautiful light to photograph with and fortunately we are allowed to photograph in our usual discreet manner there enabling us to capture those very emotional and elated moments between a couple at one of the most important moments of their life together. For this we thank the vicar, The Reverend Canon Jeremy Oakes. Upon the final prayers and blessing for Amy and Chris’ future life together completed they took their walk back down the aisle as Mr and Mrs Attwood with smiles shining as happy as life itself.
We had planned previously to stop with Amy and Chris at Hengistbury Head for some photographs en route to The Christchurch Harbour Hotel to enable their guests to settle in with the drinks reception before Amy and Chris arrived. Despite it being remarkably warm and sunny there was a refreshing breeeze blowing which kept the crowds away from the beach in this area but it provided us with wonderful conditions for some beautiful images of Chris and Amy enjoying a bit of together time after the high emotion of the ceremony. It was however important to time things so their guests were not kept waiting so before long we walked back to the waiting car and made our way to the hotel for the reception and wedding breakfast.
In the early evening with the meal and speeches all concluded Earle and I borrowed Amy and Chris again for a short while for some more photographs in the grounds overlooking Mudeford and Christchurch Harbour. Some of the images will of course be very recognisable in relation to the location however we created some images with Amy which are far less location influenced and offer our own and individual avant guarde edge to this part of their day. Amy was wonderful and seemed to particularly enjoy this time with us which makes us very happy of course especially when we see the results!!!
The party and first dance was ready to kick off for the rest of the evening with the young children being happy to lead the way in showing the grown ups how to do it, with the instruction of these youngsters in place everyone else was soon joining in with a lively evening of dance and socialising underway.
Earle and I congratulate you both, Amy and Chris on a superb day and all you have achieved. We look forward to you seeing all your photographs but in the meantime we have chosen some of our favourites from your wedding for you, your family and friends to enjoy.
