Lucy and Duncan’s wedding
{All Saints’ Church, Dummer and Warbrook House}

We met Lucy and Duncan initially in August 2011 when Duncan was best man at the wedding of Elise and Tom, it was clear from that day it was not only Elise and Tom who were smitten rather more than the average couple!  We were delighted to hear just a few months later of Lucy and Duncan’s wedding plans and they had chosen us to photograph their day.

The morning was more than a little crisp and beautifully sunny as we arrived in Dummer the day was looking bright and we were looking forward to a lovely day.  Earle dropped me off with Lucy and her party before making his way to the pub to meet Duncan and Tom who was best man.  Both locations were within yards of All Saints so no risk of getting caught in traffic jams today!

The preparations with Lucy were going well of course….Helen Spenser and Tori Sturgess were there looking after make up and hair so I knew everyone would be calm and happy:-)  All the girls were ready in good time with time even for a lovely glass on champagne before getting dressed and leaving for church.

Duncan and Tom made their way across the road early enough to greet the guests as they arrived and everyone was safely seated for the arrival of Lucy and her father.  The midday sun was pouring into the dear little village church and everyone thoroughly enjoyed a very personal and touching ceremony.

Warbrook House lies about 30 minutes away from Dummer and the guests arrived all together on the bus provided and were ready to greet Lucy and Duncan on their arrival.  The drinks reception was held in the warmth of the drawing room but we did steal Lucy and Duncan away for a short while into the gardens for some photographs just before they were due for their receiving line and wedding breakfast.

The evening party kicked off with Lucy and Duncan’s first dance and then a brilliant live band and DJ Dave got the rest of the guests dancing .  Hats off to our very stoic bride and groom for opting to brave the wintery temperatures late into the evening to come outside again for a few more portraits….you both deserve a medal!

It has been a wonderful day, Earle and I send our warmest (:-)) congratulations to Lucy and Duncan with very many thanks for your generous hospitality.

Zoe and Michael’s wedding
{Leith’s at Beaulieu, The Domus}

Rumour has it that as soon as Mike knew their wedding day could take place at Beaulieu and incorporate a reception in the National Motor Museum his mind was made up and fortunately it is such a beautiful and historic venue Zoe was happy too! We were delighted to be photographing their wonderful day and always looked forward to working with the fantastic team at Leith’s who are key to the success of Beaulieu weddings.

We met Zoe and Mike at The Master Builders Hotel at Bucklers Hard for their preparations although the boys were soon leaving for the pub and a little lunch with a large beer!! Zoe was enjoying a relaxed preamble to the wedding celebrations with her family and bridesmaids, hair and makeup all completed in good time, everyone was dressed and ready to leave for the 3.00 pm ceremony in The Domus.

There was a lovely mellow atmosphere for Zoe and Mike, The Domus looked stunning on this late autumnal afternoon, warm and cosy the scene was set for their marriage ceremony. After which we completed the formal family photographs then popped off with Zoe and Mike for a few portraits in the grounds of Palace House before the light disappeared completely. The much anticipated reception in the Motor Museum took place after the wedding breakfast, where Zoe and Mike had the opportunity to sit in some of the vehicles exhibited. Eventually we all returned to The Domus for the evening party and buffet however we did make the most of the time with Zoe and Mike who were very pleased to have some photographs of them together in the cloisters….of course!:-)

Many congratulations to you both, we hope you enjoy the selection of images we have chosen for our blog, don’t forget there will be many more for your gallery very soon!

Louise and Steve’s wedding
{Leith’s at Beaulieu, The Domus}

It looked like it was going to be a stormy day for Louise and Steve’s lovely wedding at Beaulieu but with the afternoon came a massive improvement in the weather and all was looking promising for the best of autumn in the New Forest.

Louise was at The Masterbuilders Hotel with her bridesmaids and family where I met them all while Gemma was taking care of their hair and make up.  The splendid flowers from Jo Hicks had already arrived and her team were now over at The Domus putting the finishing touches to the decorations there.

Earle met Steve and his party at Monty’s where they all enjoyed a drink and a spot of lunch before going across the road into the grounds of Palace House to greet the wedding guests as they arrived at The Domus for 3.00pm.

The atmosphere inside the Domus as warm, cosy and welcoming, a perfect setting for Louise and Steve who were of course the centre piece of a beautiful marriage ceremony after which we were thrilled to be able to complete the formal family group shots outside in the Cloisters then take Louise and Steve around the grounds for their wedding portraits which they were very enthusiastic about despite the chill in the air:-)  We were able to pop out again with them after the wedding breakfast and first dance for those much loved ‘after dark’ portraits, just for a few minutes while the party was in full swing so they were not missed too much by their guests.

It has been a brilliant day Louise and Steve, we hope you had the best time and huge congratulations on your marriage.  Earle and I have chosen some of our favourite images for the blog and will be in touch as soon as we have completed the proofing and post production on your gallery images.

Ariadne and Brendan’s wedding
{The Domus, Leith’s at Beaulieu}

A perfect September day with warm sunshine, a balmy and peaceful atmosphere was the setting at Beaulieu for Ariadne and Brendan’s beautiful wedding.

It was a late start for us with the ceremony taking place mid afternoon and no preparation photography being required by either bride or groom and the photojournalistic approach in it’s purest form was vital,  Ariadne and Brendan’s brief to us regarding their photographic memories was to provide high quality images of their wedding day as it happened, neither of them wanted to be aware of our presence. So with the arrival of Brendan then Ariadne at The Domus our mission of ‘stealth’ began!  In reality it was hugely similar to our more usual approach to photographing weddings the only difference being no ‘formals’ and no location bride and groom portraits.   A prefectly wonderful celebration unfolded with the team from Leith’s on top form as always.

Ariadne’s radiance was shining throughout the day, the beautiful marriage ceremony which had been so carefully planned thrilled everyone present and the music out in the cloisters with champagne and canapes flowing provided an ideal atmosphere for some relaxed socialising before the superb wedding breakfast and then of course big time party time afterwards.

Earle and I send our warmest congratulations to Ariadne and Brendan, enjoy your exrtraordinary honeymoon it is the stuff of dreams…have the best time!

Naomi and Lewis’ wedding
{Athelhampton House, Dorchester}

Naomi and Lewis’ wedding day at Athelhampton House was full of sunshine on the first day of September.  The whole area was buzzing with countryside shows, the Bournemouth Air Show and the Paralympics in Weymouth but the focus of everything around us was with Naomi and Lewis enjoying their day with family and friends which completely encompassed their love of the countryside.

Lewis and Earle met up at the family home in Corfe Mullen while I was with Naomi and some of her family at River Cottage in the grounds of Athelhampton House, a very quaint cottage in totally tranquil surroundings ideal on such a beautiful morning.  Earle arrived with Lewis and his party in plenty of time for the 2.00 pm ceremony, Naomi was ready in good time so once the registrars had popped in to check all the relevant details with Naomi the moment had come to walk across up the driveway to the house and be married!  Everyone enjoyed a beautiful ceremony with the pre wedding nerves melting away as the bride and groom stood together making their vows.  Jack (Lewis’ much loved cocker spaniel) was present, a very special guest in the front row, suitably dressed with a pink bow in his collar and behaving perfectly:-)

Back outside in the warmth of the afternoon sun a drinks reception was enjoyed as we completed the formal family group photographs before the wedding party retired for the wedding breakfast and speeches.  The evening light was soon upon us and at this time Naomi and Lewis were ready to take a walk around the grounds of Athelhampton for some photographs of just the two of them.  The band and DJ were all set up and the party kicked off as soon as Naomi and Lewis returned for their first dance and from that moment on the dance floor was full for the rest of the night!

It has been a wonderful day, Laura and her team at Athelhampton House were lovely to work with as always.  Earle and I send our warmest congratulations to Naomi and Lewis, wishing you many years of happiness together.

Michele and Darren’s wedding
{The Potters Heron, Hampshire}

It was off to Hampshire again for Michele and Darren’s wedding on the edge of the New Forest in Romsey.  The day was starting with Michele and Darren enjoying lunch with their immediate families and wedding party at The Potters Heron and it was at this time we arrived to begin photographing their day.  Their ceremony was at 4.00pm so with lunch completed I popped along to the make up studio to photograph Michele and her daughter Leah before we all returned to Michele’s room at The Potters Heron where all her other bridesmaids were busy getting ready with the hairstylist.  Earle had joined Darren and his party to photograph their preparations and were all organised down in the ceremony room with guests seated in good time for Michele’s arrival with her bridesmaids.

Michele and Darren had given each of their four children important roles during the ceremony, Leah was chief bridesmaid, Bradley walked his mother up the aisle while Toby and Charlie were in charge of the wedding rings.  The band were ready to play as soon as the ceremony was completed and everyone moved out into the main hotel area for the drinks reception, Michele and Darren made the most of the opportunity for a spontaneous dance much to the delight of their guests.  The drinks reception moved into the garden room for speeches, toast and the cake cutting.  A special mention here for Leah who wrote and delivered a beautiful speech for Darren and Michele to the obvious delight of them both and their family.

The party was now ready to begin and with Michele and Darren getting the ball rolling with their first dance the floor was very quickly full to capacity.  We borrowed the bride and groom for a few minutes to make the most of the gentle evening light for some photographs of the two of them together and on our return to the party it was still in full swing and stayed that way the entire evening.

Many congratulations to Michele and Darren on a brilliant day of party and celebrations.  Enjoy the selection of images we have picked for our blog while we will complete the full post production on your proofs.  We always welcome anyone who would like to join in with our blog by leaving a comment, just click on the box below.
