Lucy and Tom’s wedding
(St Nicholas Church and Thorney Island Sailing Club)

Earle and I were having an unusually late start for Lucy and Tom’s wedding day due to their ceremony taking place at 3.30pm and neither of them were requiring us to be with them for their full preparations.  We had a lovely leisurely drive long the coast to Chichester where Earle dropped me off to meet Lucy just a short while before she was due to leave home for Thorney Island.  Earle made his way over to meet Tom and the guests at the church.  Lucy had asked for some photographs of her parents before leaving so having made sure those were all in the bag we were also ready to go.

St Nicholas Church is a dear little place right on the edge of the shore at West Thorney, Lucy and Tom’s family and friends had filled it to capacity so with the finishing touch of the sun shining through the ancient windows the scene was set for Lucy’s father to walk her up the aisle where Tom was waiting for her and they became man and wife.

Following a beautiful ceremony everyone spilled out of the church and walked right next door to Thorney Island Sailing Club where a marvellous marque had been erected in the grounds for the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations.  We organised the formal family photographs quickly for Lucy and Tom and then borrowed them from their guests for just perhaps 10 minutes for those special photographs of just the two of them together relaxing on the shoreline.  With this done they were delighted to be able to join their guests and the rest of their celebrations.

The evening brought a great party with Fake Tan Band bringing the live music and making sure the party had the energy and sounds we all need for a brilliant evening.  The dance floor was packed right up to the end of the evening when they played to last number before Lucy and Tom raced off down the beach to the pontoon where a boat was waiting to take them across the water to their hotel overnight.

Huge congratulations to you both it has been a wonderful day and a priviledge to be part of the team.  We have prepared some of our favourite photographs for you to enjoy here while we organise the proofs for you.  There is a ‘comments’ button also, please do click on it and leave a message it is there for everyone.

Laura and Duncan’s wedding
(Athelhampton House, Dorchester, Dorset)

We have known Laura and her lovely family for many years now and were particularly touched they wanted us to photograph Laura and Duncan’s wedding last Saturday at Athelhampton House.   Both Laura and Duncan were getting ready for their day at Greenwood Grange so it was here Earle and I headed off to in the brilliant sunshine which promised to last all day.  The cottage Laura was in with her family and all her bridesmaids was already a hive of activity upon our arrival, Earle was ready to greet the boys at their cottage after their swim and once they were all dressed in their wedding gear they all took their leave for Athelhampton.   There was a steady stream of visitors all excited to see Laura and her family during the morning  but she was still ready to leave in good time and looking wonderful.

The ceremony room at Athelhampton House was full to capacity with the registrar conducting the ceremony being a close family friend Laura and Duncan’s marriage ceremony was a particularly emotional occasion.  Everyone was able to enjoy the drinks reception out in the grounds soaking up the warm afternoon sunshine while we organised the formal family photographs before the receiving line and wedding breakfast.

With all the food enjoyed and speeches delivered Earle and I took Laura and Duncan out into the grounds again for some photographs of just the two of them together, this time was very important to them both and we had to work through our planned locations quickly to catch the last of the daylight and enable them to return to their guests, the party and first dance!

A perfectly wonderful day in a beautiful location, thank you for having us part of your team Laura and Duncan.  Earle and I have selected a few images from your wedding for you all to enjoy while we prepare the proofs.

We always welcome comments from everyone, do feel free to add yours.
