Tracy and Roy wedding

The beautiful setting of Highcliffe Castle was the venue Tracy and Roy chose to exchange their wedding vows in front of family and friends.  Our day of photography kicked off at the Castle as the guests were arriving in the glorious unexpected sunshine.  With everyone in place Tracy arrived looking radiant and their wedding ceremony was underway.   Tracy and Roy’s children had an important role to play, bestman, bridesmaids and ringbearers,  each managed to perfection – hats off to all five of you from Earle and me – you were all quite brilliant!

Following the ceremony and some group pictures everyone headed off to the Captains Club Hotel  in Christchurch for the reception and partytime.  Roy and Tracy joined all the youngsters in the massive stretched Hummer for the trip – of course all they were all really thrilled to be transported around in such an impressive vehicle and it gave them all some special time together for their own celebrations.   Later in the day we popped along to Hengistbury Head  a major beauty spot in this area of Dorset for some family photographs but this time they had to adjust their travel arrangements to our cars, my little Mini was kind of the other end of the scale to their earlier transport but nonetheless it proved quite popular!!!  It must be said though Roy opted for the comfort of Earle’s car:-)   We all had brilliant fun out on the shoot, everyone joined into the spirit of the occassion and the images we have captured certainly reflect the sense of joy and excitement everyone felt.

The evening brought on party time with a marvellous ceilidh band followed by a disco,  loads more friends arrived to enjoy the evening celebrations and entertainment.

Huge congratulations to you both, enjoy the selection of images Earle and I have chosen as a taster for you all.  A massive thanks to Jake, Mollie, Kellie, Dan and Rhys, total stars each and every one of you.  Please feel free to add any comments to this blog, it will be great to hear from you.

Cathy and Colin’s wedding

April is always a lovely time of year here in Dorset and yesterday was a particularly wonderful day, just perfect for Cathy and Colin’s wedding at The Guildhall in Poole and their reception at The Sandbanks Hotel

I met up with Cathy and her bridesmaids early in the day so was able to join in with all the preparations and capture lots of lovely images of the morning progressing with hair and make up, chatter and dressing.  Earle met with Colin and his bestman and ushers before they all left for a little liquid refreshment at a very convenient pub next to the Guildhall!

Following a beautiful ceremony and a few formal family photographs we regrouped at The Sandbanks Hotel right on the beach front peninsular and enjoyed a lovely drinks reception which kicked off the rest of Cathy and Colin’s celebrations.  We borrowed them for a short while in the early evening for some stunning photography on the beach front but were sure to have them back in time to enjoy the amazing talents of James Brown the magician and hypnotist who came along to share in their day and entertain all their guests.

From the first moment we met Cathy and Colin it was apparent they put their wedding photography high on their list of priorities and were very clear what they hoped to achieve, they had seen loads of our work and had the confidence in us to deliver all they were hoping for.  With this in mind we suggested to them after their first dance that they may like to have a little more time with us to capture some of our specialist lowlight fashion inspired images.  We were gone for a very short while with them but it was time really well spent and we are thrilled with the photographs we are able to offer Cathy and Colin as a result.

Cathy, you look stunning and you both were a joy to photograph.  Thank you both for making us so very welcome throughout the whole day, for taking such good care of us and most of all for inviting us to be part of your wonderful wedding day.   Enjoy the images below, just a small taster of what was acheived by brilliant team work.

Lisa and Jules pre wedding portraits

Last Sunday we met up with Lisa and Jules at the Captains Club in Christchurch, Dorset for a chat about their wedding day later this summer in Winchester.  They have the most marvellously historic church for their ceremony with the very long name of The Hospital of St Cross and Almshouse of Noble poverty.  A Hampshire location which is well worth a visit at any time.

After a very welcome cup of tea and familiarising ourselves with the wedding day plan which sounds wonderful, we took advantage of the late afternoon sunlight and enjoyed a portrait shoot at Hengistbury Head.  Jules loves the sea and is a keen windsurfer so it was the natural place to be, the cliffs, the beach, the sea – yes they went into the sea – how brave are they?  These windsurfers are a hardy lot!

Lisa and Jules it was great to spend time with you both, Earle and I hope you are pleased with your portraits, we had fun taking them and we are looking forward to seeing you both in a few weeks.  Don’t forget to let us know which one you want for your signature print!

Family portraits

It’s so great to welcome back wedding clients when they have started or added to their family.  Sam and Mark used one of our Gift Vouchers for a family portrait session in our studio starring their truly adorable little daughter.  Their baby was a little star and took the lead role without the bat of an eyelid, she was a total treat to photograph probably getting the vibe from Mummy and Daddy who have grown very relaxed in front of our camera’s.

We love photographing babies and young children every one is so different, the expressions, the movement and characteristics are unblemished, random and real – to see their early characters emerging and the deep love held for them by their parents is something very special indeed.
