Clare and Jonathan wedding

Last Saturday we were all taken by surprise, the weather was so marvellous Clare and Jonathan were able to have their wedding ceremony at the Highcliff Marriott Hotel in Bournemouth out in the gardens overlooking the sea in the warm autumn afternoon sunshine.

It was lovely over at their flat in the morning just along the road from the hotel, with  Clare’s mum and her bridesmaids getting ready with Kerry the wonderful make up artist.  Clare’s Dad arrived just at the right time to see the girls before everyone left for the ceremony.  It was just a short walk along the overcliff to the hotel and it was a fantastic experience with everyone calling out their congratulations and best wishes to Clare who was looking stunning.

Jonathan was able to enjoy these good wishes also when we rushed off down to the beach after their marriage and the formal photographs were completed.  Our time on the beach with the sun dropping fast was short but precious and we are delighted with the images from this time which we know Clare and Jonathan were very keen for us to achieve.

The whole day was quite fantastic, not least the evening and party with the most amazing band playing to a packed dance floor.  Massive congratulations to you both and keep on having fun!

Come fly with us!

Last Christmas we were given a brilliant present from Sam (one of our daughters) and her boyfriend Darren……. a Balloon Ride!!!!  This is something I personally have longed to do since my teens when we lived in Bath and used to watch the balloonists floating along the valley in the early mornings and evening time.  Well finally we had a moment last week to think about booking the date and were thrilled and amazed to find we could be up and away in just a few days.  Yesterday morning was D day and we were floating up over Bath immediately after daybreak.  The views were stunning, weather quite perfect and then Mike, our pilot cracked open the champagne…. our biggest issue was figuring out how to drink our champagne and photograph the whole experience!!!!  Oh problems, problems.

Mike and the team at Bath Balloons were great, we felt welcome and completely safe at all times enabling us to thoroughly enjoy the entire flight which included the opportunity to help with inflating the balloon and packing it away again afterwards, now that was fun – toothpaste into a tube?  We of course now want to do it all over again – anyone thinking of getting married in a balloon – hey phone us!!

Sarah and Ed wedding

Friday 26th September was Sarah and Ed’s wedding day and what a great day it was.  Earle and I had a lovely time with each of them in the morning, Sarah with her mum and bridesmaids busy having hair and makeup prepared with Lisa Mac Makeup and Helen of Acourts while Ed went for a good breakfast and a game of crazy golf with the boys.

Following their wedding ceremony at Corpus Christi church and a few photographs of Ed and Sarah amongst their friends and family enjoying all the congratulations,  we followed Ed and Sarah to Bournemouth train station for some very special photographs of them both on board the Orient Express.  Ed and Sarah have developed a bit of a thing with this historic train, it was involved in their engagement in Bath and they are going to honeymoon on it in Europe so when they discovered it was passing through Bournemouth on their wedding day they just had to grab the opportunity for some photographs on their wedding day!  The staff at the station and on board the Orient Express were fantastic making us all very welcome and even greeting the happy couple on board for the duration of the stop with a bottle of champagne.  Ed and Sarah were thrilled and we had the fantastic opportunity for some really unusual photography with them, the train and around the station – so a massive thanks to all concerned for making it possible and such a good experience.

As soon as the train was ready to continue its journey we made our way back to the wedding guests who were enjoying the drinks reception at the Orchid Hotel in Bournemouth.  The whole day was a wonderful success, Sarah you looked totally stunning and what a great party and brilliant Salsa!!!

Many congratulations to you both and enjoy this taster of the photography from your magical wedding day.

Debbie and Rick wedding

The daylight hours may be getting less but the hours we do have at the  moment are really wonderful and the day of Debbie and Rick’s wedding was no exception.  Their venue at the art deco Cumberland Hotel on the East Cliff in Bournemouth was at its best in the sunshine overlooking the sea with views all around the local coastline, it could not have been a better situation for all their guests who mostly had travelled some distance to celebrate the wedding day.

After a busy morning of preparations and their lovely marriage ceremony everyone was able to enjoy the sunshine by the swimming pool for drinks before sitting down for the wedding breakfast.  We were looking forward to taking Debbie and Rick off afterwards for some photography on the beach and when we arrived down there the conditions were perfect as were Debbie and Rick both looking fantastic .  The sun was setting and the tide was out.  We all had a brilliant time and were able to capture a selection of really atmospheric images with Rick and Debbie relaxing in the evening light.  We then stopped off for a favourite moment with Rick and Debbie on the roundabout and they even found a beautifully decorated horse which was Debbie’s namesake!

We were gone just long enough for the room to be turned around at the Cumberland and upon our return Debbie and Rick were able to have their first dance and the party got going for the rest of the evening.

It was a really great day with Rick and Debbie, congratulations to you both and enjoy your photographs!
