Marie and Daryl wedding

Saturday was another brilliant day. Marie and Daryl were marrying at Canford School in Wimborne. After a fun and busy morning with Marie and her three Iovely bridesmaids I made my way over to the school to where Earle was waiting with Daryl and all their guests. Marie was arriving a little later in a beautiful carriage pulled by two amazing black stallions.

Marie knew from the beginning of her wedding plans she wanted the photography to be an important aspect to their wedding day and alongside the documentary style of imagery she wanted some portraits of her and Daryl together which were a ‘bit different’. They had been really thoughtful in their planning and made sure all their guests were very well looked after while they had a trip out together with the horse and carriage after the wedding ceremony and again while we took them away to work on the theme of ‘a bit different’ with them!! Nadine from NKW weddings was on hand all day to oversee the smooth running of Marie and Daryl’s day and she did a marvellous job, quietly keeping a close eye on activities and the well being of all their guests.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip out with Marie and Daryl, they were brilliant and threw themselves into the spirit of what we were wanting to achieve, trusting us completely. We were even able to borrow Marie again briefly later in the evening for some more photographs inspired by her change of wedding gown, moving on from her stunning daytime gown to a knock ’em dead surprise number for everyone including Daryl!!!

Daryl’s sister managed to put her own personal affirmation on the day by playing cupid for the bride and groom, managing to shoot not just one but two bullseyes at the Archery, which was just one of the activities provided in the grounds of Canford School after the wedding ceremony.

Marie you looked absoloutly wonderful and together you are total stars. thank you for your hospitality during the day and for being such fun to photograph, a few of our favourites are here!

Earle and I send our warmest congratulations to you both.

Amanda and Paul wedding

Friday brought the big day for Amanda and Paul, they came back to the home of Amanda’s parents to hold their wedding day in the Dorset village of Horton. I had a lovely morning with Amanda, her sister and bridesmaid Kate and their parents as they were all busy preparing for the wedding ceremony which was at St Wolfrida’s church just a few hundred yards away.

Paul was with his family in a hotel nearby, which is where Earle met them to capture some photographs before leaving for the church. St Wolfrida’s church pews were filled to capacity with all the guests when Amanda arrived with her father. Following the wedding ceremony we met with Amanda and Paul at the ruin of Knowlton Church for a few photographs giving their guests opportunity to reach the reception venue at Larmer Tree Gardens. The time there was well used and we are delighted with the photographs we have acheived at the ruin.

Once Amanda and Paul arrived at the Larmer Tree Gardens we were able to enjoy the wonderful gardens there along with all the guests.

It was a beautiful day, the weather was fantastic, Amanda looked wonderful and Paul was one very happy man! A great big thank you to you both for taking such good care of us during the day.

We have picked out some of our favourite images for you to enjoy ….

Kim and Matt wedding

Kim, Matt, Lulworth Castle and their marriage in the church…… fantastic setting for a fantastic couple!

Saturday started off for me over at the home of Kim’s mother where I was greeted with a very warm welcome and a good cup of hot coffee!! Earle was due over at the Weld Arms to meet Matt and his mates later in the morning where again he was given a lovely welcome.

The morning was filled with excited activity… hair, makeup, tiaras, dresses the list goes on and yet all the girls were ready to leave spot on time for the car ride over to Lulworth Castle and the wedding ceremony in the lovely little church there in the grounds. Caroline (mother of the bride) and all the bridesmaids looked completely wonderful but Kim was quite stunning arriving with her father and Matt looked thrilled as she walked up the aisle towards him.

The reception following the ceremony gave us plenty of time to photograph the formal images needed before the wedding breakfast meaning we had lots of time afterwards with Kim and Matt to do some photography of just the two of them together. They had explained to us long ago how important the photography is to them and they threw themselves into the time we all had together with wonderful energy. Weather conditions down in the cove were particularly windy and a little damp but Kim and Matt were not even slightly perturbed but rather revelled in the weather and we were able to have a wonderful time fighting the winds. We got them back to the castle in time for them to perform their first dance. Kim and Matt thrilled everyone with a fantastic energy driven dance which set the tone for the rest of the evening. We did steal them away again for a short while for a few photographs of a calmer nature within the castle walls but this was really party time.

Congratulations to you both and a massive thank you for your enthusiasm in the photography and your kind hospitality all day long.

Wendy and Charles wedding

Friday 15th August was a beautiful day not least because it saw the marriage between Wendy and Charlie.  Wendy started off her day having her hair and makeup taken care of  before returning to her parents home in Christchurch to finish preparing before leaving for the nearby church.  We had a lovely time with the team at MacGregors in Southbourne all the girls took wonderful care of Wendy and by the time she left there all that was needed to be ready was to get into her wonderful wedding gown.

This was yet another wedding which reunited us with many old friends made at wedding celebrations in years gone by.  Charlie and his two best men Ian and Jack were at church in plenty of time to welcome the guests and the arrival of Wendy with her father.  It was lovely to see so many familiar faces there, past brides and grooms now with children and parents now grandparents it was a real priviledge to be welcomed by everyone in the way we were.

The reception was held in the New Forest at The Forest Lodge Hotel.  Fine weather allowed everyone to enjoy the gardens and beautiful surroundings before and after the wedding breakfast.  The DJ had quite a challenge encouraging the guests inside to join in the dancing and did a great job, Wendy and Charlie had an enthusastic audience for their first dance and the party was under way!

It was a super day and fantastic to see Charlie and Wendy so happy together, Wendy you looked amazing, huge congratulations to you both on your marriage.  We have picked out a few of our favourite images for you to have a peek at…… of course there are loads more to make their way to the web site.

Laura and Neil wedding

Laura and Neil opted for the wonderful setting of Chantmarle at Frome St Quentin in Dorset for their wedding day on 08.08.08 with a ceremony set to begin at 02.38 keeping the eight theme rolling! Earle and I arrived at Chantmarle together then disappeared in separate directions to each meet with the Bride and Groom to photograph their preparations. The whole of this beautiful historic house was busy with people arriving and getting ready for the wedding.

Laura and Neil enjoyed a wonderful and very personalised ceremony with all their guests then were able to spend the rest of the afternoon out on the lawns soaking up the surrounding and reception drinks in the warm weather. We had a lovely time with Laura and Neil stealing them away for a short while for some photographs of just the two of them together. They were great sports who put their trust in us completely we were able to capture some very beautiful images, Laura looked fantastic and Neil was every bit the proudest husband.

Congratulations to you both on your marriage, a brilliant day and fantastic party!

Have a peek at a few of the images we have for you to look forward to.

Sarah and Simon Wedding

Earle and I were racing along the Dorset lanes this weekend for Sarah and Simon’s wedding day. Although Sarah and Simon live in Leeds they decided to return to Sarah’s parents home in Sherborne and its Abbey for their wedding day. A very awesome venue indeed!

The entire wedding party were at Holbrook House in Wincanton for the weekend so this is where Earle and I met with them for the preparations early on Saturday morning. The guests left for Sherborne in the red double decker bus, Simon and the boys had long gone… the pub beckoned! Sarah and her parents travelled the few miles in a lovely convertible Morris Minor, having rained all morning the sun shone brightly as they motored along the country lanes.

The architecture of Sherborne Abbey provided the structure for us the create some really pleasing images of Sarah and Simon during and afer their lovely ceremony with of course the very kind permission of Canon Woods. We then moved on to the fields nearby for another photographic moment while all the guests returned to Holbrook House for the reception. Once the evening entertainment was under way the chinese lanterns were lit by the guests who enjoyed the beautiful sight of all the lantern’s drifting off in the night sky yet another brilliant opportunity for us to capture some very special and atmospheric images.

Sarah and Simon it was a brilliant day, enjoyed by everyone, massive congratulations to you both on your marriage, keep on having fun! Sarah you looked fantastic, we hope you both love your wedding images at least as much as your portraits!!!!

Take a peek at some of our favs.
