Donna and James Wedding

Just outside Frome, Somerset lies this wonderful, idyllic house called Babington House hotel.  This was the venue for Donna and James’ wedding day Thursday 24th April.  We arrived in plenty of time for the afternoon ceremony in the Chapel so we could as always cover all the preparations for the bride and groom, but this one was a little different with the groom jumping into his helicopter just a short while before the ceremony and then flew it to the window of his brides room where she was having her hair attended to and performed the most wonderful display of piloting I can ever imagine, hovering and bowing right in front of her window!!!  Well, I for one was impressed!  The poor chap who had just organised the carpet across the lawn from the house to the chapel had to redo the whole stretch…… oh well.

The buzz around Donna, her family and friends was fantastic, everyone finally ready to go and all we needed was the final dress moment, spot on cue a thoroughly beautiful Donna appeared in her stunning Allison Rodger gown, we were ready to go…

Following the wedding ceremony which was filled with beautiful music and readings in Babington House Chapel, Donna and James were able to enjoy the drinks reception with their guests and another exciting helicopter moment from friends of the newly weds while we completed the formal photographs.  As ever we did steal the Bride and Groom away just for a short while to do a little bit of photography of them alone, but it was a first for us to see a waiter following us with a tray of canapes just to be sure the top brass of the day did not go hungry… I may have heard that James organised that one!  Whatever… we had some fun pictures from it!

James and Donna, very many congratulations to you both on your marriage, we were thrilled to be part of the team to complete your stunning wedding day and thank you for taking such good care of us.

Enjoy viewing your images in full but for now here is a small selection of just some of our favourites.

Karen and Barry Wedding

Karen and Barry’s wedding was held at the Highcliffe Hotel last Saturday.  The weather was not great for the event but Karen’s sunny excitement and energy more than made up for the dampness outside!  After a real girlie time at Karen and Barry’s lovely home for the preparations we left the house and made our way to to hotel where Barry and all their guests were waiting.

Following the ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast we completed the formal photographs and then walked down to the beach with the bride and groom and their immediate wedding party.  Karen was amazing, in the chilly and damp weather she happily helped us, and Barry, create some really atmospheric images.  The wind and chilled air had kept the beach very empty, we worked quickly and then wrapped Karen into a warm scarf and jacket to help her thaw out while walking back to the Highcliffe Hotel.  We must not forget to mention the bridesmaids who also rallied round against the cold despite their lack of warm clothing… I fear Karen may have a few favours called in within the near future!!!

Karen and Barry, your wedding day was just wonderful and we loved being there to photograph everything.  Thanks for showing such faith and confidence in us also not least your hospitality and keeping our energy levels high!!

Congratulations to you both.

Palma – Working break

Jane and I, spent four days working in Palma this week.  We had a load of fun in Palma and Puerto de Soller.  The quality of the light was fantastic, and the weather was glorious.  When we weren’t working we managed to take some images to remember the town.

Sue and David Wedding

It was around a year ago we met with Sue and David to talk about their wedding photography. Sue’s daughter, Tina was the dynamo behind them for this. Tina herself a photographer was very keen to find the right people for her mum’s wedding day, Earle and I were delighted to know she had found us!

Carey’s Manor was the venue for Sue and David’s wedding, a lovely hotel at Brockenhurst in the heart of the New Forest. The bride and groom had their family and close friends around them to celebrate their marriage. One of the brilliant things of our work is when we wind up being privileged to witness really special moments, raw, spontaneous, completely real, and one of those without doubt was Sue’s son’s reaction to seeing her just before coming down to the ceremony. Ready to meet her groom and rather nervously waiting for the appointed hour everything seemed a little less anxious with the arrival of James and Josh at the door, the pride and love for their mum and sister was something very special indeed.

David and his son Martin were busy with James and Josh taking care of things with guests arriving and making sure all the boy type jobs were taken care of.

After a lovely ceremony and beautiful reading from Tina everyone was able to enjoy some sunshine and refreshments on the lawn before the wedding breakfast. Later in the evening we had some time with Sue and David to capture some images of them around the grounds of the hotel. The daylight was long gone but we used that to effect and were pleased to create some amazing images of them both which we hope they are going to be completely delighted with.

Congratulations to you both, Sue and David and thank you for your very kind hospitality.
