Lucie and Mike’s wedding
{Sherborne Abbey and Batchfoot House Marquee}

It’s always a privilege to photograph a military wedding, Lucie and Mike’s wedding at Sherborne Abbey was a total joy on a perfect early autumn day in the heart of Dorset.  I met with Lucie and her lovely bridesmaids in Ilchester for their preparations while Earle travelled to Upwey to meet with Mike and his party before moving onto the glorious Abbey in Sherborne which was bathed in sunshine giving the most wonderful light inside the church for their entire wedding ceremony.  The Guard of Honour was impressive and appreciated by the guest and all the onlookers who had gathered on the green.

Before leaving Sherborne we popped along to the castle ruins with Lucie and Mike, they had requested some photographs of them together here before travelling back to Upwey.

The reception was held in the grounds of Mike’s family home complete with an inflatable pub and big screen for the England Wales rugby match!  The fire pit and bales were a perfect quiet area and the surprise of a massive firework display was perfectly timed for those who needed cheering up or to celebrate after the rugby was over…..

Lucie and Mike, we send our very best wishes to you both for a very long and particularly happy life together.  We have chosen some of our favourite photographs for you to enjoy while the full gallery is finalised.  Enjoy!

Karen and Ken’s wedding
{The Pig, The Domus and Marquee}

Ken and Karen started their heavily Scottish influenced wedding day off with the preparations at The Pig in Brockenhurst, the lovely New Forest hotel with charm and quality exuding from every corner.  The hair and makeup girls were taking care of Karen and her bridesmaids when I arrived with  plenty of hustle and bustle with various family members coming and going.  Earle was already at The Montagu Arm in Beaulieu waiting for Ken and his best man to arrive for their pint before moving on to The Domus and Karen’s arrival for their marriage ceremony and drinks reception out in the quadrangle

The wedding breakfast was arranged in the marquee at Ken and Karen’s lovely New Forest home where all the guests were able to enjoy a wonderfully relaxing afternoon before returning to The Domus for a large and lively party.

Many congratulations to Karen and Ken on your marriage, we have selected a few of our favourite images from your wedding day for your enjoyment, we will be in touch soon with details of your gallery.

Isabel and Tom’s wedding
{Wimborne Minster and Deans Court, Wimborne}

Isabel and Tom’s wedding was right on our doorstep today in Wimborne Minster which offers such a very particular character and appeal and where Tom is a member of the choir.  Dean’s Court was a new venue to us also and what a perfect gem it is, an idyll hidden away from the general hubbub of Wimborne and yet just a stone’s throw from the Minster.   I caught up with Isabel at the hairdressers in Wimborne while Earle headed off to The Kings Head to meet Tom where he was getting ready with his family and groomsmen.  While the boys were occupied with their various morning last minute tasks Isabel and the girls walked from the hairdressers, home then just across the courtyard to the beauty salon before the final moments of getting into their beautiful wedding and bridesmaid dresses.

The Minster is just across the square from Isabel and Tom’s home and right on time Isabel is ready to walk across there with her father and bridesmaids.  Much of the music during the day was provided by Tom’s family and this added immensley to the personal influences of their beautiful wedding ceremony and matched the environment perfectly.

The much talked about July weather was promising to be kind and the sunshine was even beginning to show up!  We were able to complete the formal family photographs outside the Minster very quickly enabling the whole wedding party to make the short walk from the square across to Deans Court and the delightful reception in the house and tranquil gardens.  Everyone enjoyed the sunshine and relaxing in the sunshine for the afternoon before moving around to the marquee for the wedding breakfast and entertaining speeches.  Isabel and Tom joined us later in the evening as we took a stroll around the grounds to photograph just the two of them relaxing before the first dance and partying alongside the fantastic west country, cider drinking band…The Skimmity Hitchers.

A wonderful day all round, massive congratulations to  Isabel and Tom!  Thank you for your hospitality and also to Jonathan for the welcome you offered us at Deans Court.  We hope you enjoy the selection of images here, please feel free to add a comment, all you need to do is click on the box.

Nichola and Andrew’s Blessing
{All Saint’s and Castle Malwood Park, Minstead}

Those of you who follow our blog may well recognise Nichola and Andrew from their wedding day last June at All Saint’s and their delightful afternoon tea reception at Lainston House before they both left England once again to take up their new life together based in Dubai. Well, they have returned to England to celebrate their first anniversary in marvellous style with a Blessing ceremony back in All Saint’s church and celebrations at Nichola’s family home in the New Forest.

Andrew and his party were all in Lyndhurst preparing for the day ahead and this is where Earle met them all while I was with Nichola and her family and bridesmaids in Minstead until the time came to leave for church.  The horse and carriage delivered the Mother of the bride and bridesmaids to church before returning for Nichola and her Father who were able to enjoy a lovely journey through the leafy sunblessed lanes of Minstead to the dear little church where Nichola and Andrew married last year with just their very closest family present.  Today the church was full to bursting point to share in the renewal and blessing of their vows.

A glorious reception with influences of Nichola’s Hong Kong childhood followed complete with a Chinese Lion dance before retiring to the marquee for their wedding breakfast and evening party.

It has been wonderful to see Nichola and Andrew again with their family and so many of their friends, Earle and I send our warmest congratulations to you both and hope you enjoy the images of your incredible day.

Kirsty and Alastair’s wedding
{Longparish Church and Marquee in Bransbury}

A trip up towards Andover for us to photograph Kirsty and Alastair’s wonderful and very lively wedding day.  When we arrived the finishing touches were being put into place in the huge marquee in the grounds of Kirsty’s family home and Earle went to meet up with Alastair with his family and army of ushers in Longparish.  Kirsty and her sisters who were her bridesmaids were able to take their time getting ready with their hairstylist and makeup artist and we still had plenty of time for a few family formal portraits before leaving for church.

The scottish heritage of Kirsty’s family was celebrated in many ways throughout the day, not least with a piper leading them back down the aisle after their marriage ceremony which was highly memorable also for the huge shout of support and applause from all the guests upon Rev. Hemming announcing Kirsty and Alastair as husband and wife…!

On the return to the marquee we stopped off for just a few moments for some photographs of Kirsty and Alastair giving their family and friends opportunity to settle into the drinks reception at the marquee.  The weather remained warm enough for everyone to enjoy the surroundings outside for the rest of the afternoon through to being seated for the wedding breakfast, speeches and delicious wedding Tiffin cake made by Alastair’s very talented Mother.

A very energetic party followed in the evening with a band and scottish dancing sharing the revellery.

Earle and I send our warmest congratulations to Kirsty and Alastair on your marriage.  What a great day!!! We have selected a few images for our blog while we continue the full edit.  Enjoy and welcome to anyone who would like to join in by leaving a comment, just click on the box below.

Fiona and Karl’s wedding
{St Aldhelms Church and Parley Manor}

Fiona and Karl travelled from their Ascot home to marry in Fiona’s birthplace and childhood home on the borders of  Poole and Bournemouth and Dorset’s south coast was at its best for their wedding day.  Karl was spending the morning of his wedding day with his family and friends at a local hotel which is where Earle met him while I made my way to see Fiona and her bridesmaids at her parents home for their preparations before leaving spot on time for the wedding ceremony at St Aldhelms Church in Poole.

Parley Manor was the next stop for us all and how extraordinarily pretty the gardens were looking after the overnight rain refreshed all the abundant flora and fauna.  The drinks reception and wedding breakfast was enjoyed for the afternoon and by early evening we were on our way to the beach with Fiona and Karl and a bit of fun with them dodging the sea and climbing on rocks.  On our return from our little photographic expedition the evening party was ready to start with the new Mr & Mrs Lord kicking things off with their first dance ably assisted by their two youngest bridesmaids Grace and Ava.

Earle and I send our warmest congratulations to Fiona and Karl on your marriage and hope you enjoy this selection of images from your wedding day.   Please feel free to add a comment by clicking on the box below, we love hearing from you:-)
