Lucie and Mike’s wedding
{Sherborne Abbey and Batchfoot House Marquee}

It’s always a privilege to photograph a military wedding, Lucie and Mike’s wedding at Sherborne Abbey was a total joy on a perfect early autumn day in the heart of Dorset.  I met with Lucie and her lovely bridesmaids in Ilchester for their preparations while Earle travelled to Upwey to meet with Mike and his party before moving onto the glorious Abbey in Sherborne which was bathed in sunshine giving the most wonderful light inside the church for their entire wedding ceremony.  The Guard of Honour was impressive and appreciated by the guest and all the onlookers who had gathered on the green.

Before leaving Sherborne we popped along to the castle ruins with Lucie and Mike, they had requested some photographs of them together here before travelling back to Upwey.

The reception was held in the grounds of Mike’s family home complete with an inflatable pub and big screen for the England Wales rugby match!  The fire pit and bales were a perfect quiet area and the surprise of a massive firework display was perfectly timed for those who needed cheering up or to celebrate after the rugby was over…..

Lucie and Mike, we send our very best wishes to you both for a very long and particularly happy life together.  We have chosen some of our favourite photographs for you to enjoy while the full gallery is finalised.  Enjoy!

Gemma and Gary’s wedding
{St Mark’s Church and Barford Park}

We have known Gemma for a long time now through our work and were more than delighted when she and Gary became engaged, they then asked us to photograph their wedding day!  A major thrill for us, Gemma knows the wedding world inside out having worked in the arena for many years but above all they are a wonderful couple.

Earle and I both travelled out to Fairfields Farm where Gemma developed her love of the countryside and horses as a young girl.  Today she was preparing for her wedding day there, and was travelling to her own wedding in one of the beautiful horse carriages she used to polish for brides  in her childhood.    Gary was at his parents home, so Earle soon left to meet him before they all tractored to the pub for pre ceremony drinks.

St Mark’s Church in Ampfield was bathed in glorious sunshine for Gemma and Gary.  The ceremony was filled with joy and laughter with plenty of confetti being thrown over them as soon as they were back down the aisle and out into the sunshine.

Barford Park lies on another farm just outside Downton and the task of dressing this lovely barn for Gemma and Gary was in the very capable hands of Jo Hicks.  The flower arrangements, bouquets and the two enormous show stopping flower balls hanging from the rafters of the barn were outstanding. The barn looked perfect. Hay bales and wheelbarrows filled with ice and cold beers were scattered in the grounds outside and the caterers, Keats were all set with their incredible menu.

It was a beautiful day, Gemma created the team to help her achieve the perfect surroundings for her marriage to Gary, it was however Gemma and Gary together who were the team bringing the sense of joy and fun to the celebration.  We could not be happier for you both.

Jane and Ben’s wedding
{Beaulieu Abbey and The Domus}

What a superb day for a wedding in The New Forest, the sun was out with a lovely cooling breeze as Earle met Ben at The Montagu Arms where he was enjoying a pre wedding drink with his best man and ushers.  I made my way across to the Romsey home of Jane’s parents where Jane and her bridesmaids were all preparing for the day ahead.  After a few final touches and button hole in place for Jane’s father everyone was ready to leave amid cheers and waves from all the neighbours.

Beaulieu Abbey was looking resplendent, filled with beautiful seasonal blooms arranged by a close family friend who took care of all the flowers for Jane and Ben’s wedding.  The drinks reception in the quadrant gave us opportunity to quickly organise those important family group photographs while everyone was able to enjoy their lovely drinks and canapés before retiring into The Domus for the wedding breakfast.

With the evening light settling Jane and Ben returned to the quadrant for some portraits before the evening party began and lots more guests arrived for a fun and full evening of dance and joy!!!

Congratulations to Jane and Ben on your marriage and a super day which we hope you will hold the best memories of for your life together. We have picked some of our favourite images from your day for you to enjoy while we complete the full post production of your proofs.

Lauren and John’s wedding
{Christchurch Priory and Captain’s Club}

What a perfect day this Friday the 13th was for Lauren and John’s marriage at the stunning Christchurch Priory and the very beautiful riverside venue of Captain’s Club in Christchurch.  The flowers all looked beautiful and the team at Captain’s Club were all very excited and delighted with the finished look of their venue for Lauren and John who had focused very strongly on English tradition and summer time colours giving the most perfect feel to their entire day. Michael Judd was as always wonderful in his role at Toastmaster and made sure everything ran completely smoothly.

We were delighted to have the opportunity to pop along to Hengistbury Head with Lauren and John later in the day for a few minutes to capture some images of them on the beach and Cliffside which we are confident will contrast beautifully with the images earlier in the day around the grounds of the Priory.

Earle and I send Lauren and John our warmest congratulations and wish them many years of very happy marriage.  We have selected some of our favourite images for your enjoyment while we complete the post production for the proofs.
