Shooting Skulls!

Filed under portraits • Written by jane @ 10:40 am

Yes I know this sounds a bit weird but it’s just got to be done if the opportunity is there!  We were given the door of skulls after the film set of ‘Clash of the Titans’ was stripped down and have been looking forward to a time when we would be able to use it in our studio - the time arrived yesterday with our lovely clients Paul and Amy who embraced the idea wholeheartedly and entered into our fantastical world  for this extraordinary shoot.

Emma and Trevor’s wedding

Filed under civil ceremony • Written by jane @ 3:56 pm

It was an early start for us taking a trip over to the Southampton area for Emma and Trevor’s wedding preparations the sun was shining and the day was looking good.  Emma’s family were gathered at her parents home with young Alfie being kept entertained and rested as needed whilst the girls were busy having their hair and make up taken care of.  Earle was the other side of Southampton with Trevor and his family before they all left for Beaulieu where their marriage and celebration was taking place.

Earle and I always love photographing weddings at Beaulieu and this was the first occassion for us to photograph a civil ceremony in the Domas.  Emma and Trevor’s young son Alfie was fantastic managing to carry the rings up the aisle on the ring cushion made by Emma’s mother.  The sun was still shining and streaming through the Domas windows giving a wonderful glow to the atmosphere while the ceremony was taking place.

We took Emma and Trevor for a walk afterwards around the grounds of Beaulieu for a few relaxed and informal photographs while their guests were enjoying the canapes and drinks before the wedding breakfast.  With the daylight dropping early still at this time of year we were really pleased Emma and Trevor were keen to use the nightlight for a few minutes and create some more stunning images around the Domas grounds.

Earle and I send our warmest congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Gaunt and thank you both for your very kind hospitality.  We have chosen some of our favourite images throughout the day for you to enjoy here and of course these and all the rest will be online for you very soon.

  1. These are wonderful photographs and I know that Emma and Trevor are eagerly anticipating their viewing when they return from Honeymoon. I think you have expertly and artistically captured the joy of the day and the atmosphere of the Domas. Thank you both very much.

Sorcha and Michael’s wedding

Filed under civil ceremony, wedding • Written by jane @ 2:53 pm

After all the festivities of Christmas day and Boxing day everything was buzzing again over at Sorcha and Michael’s home in Ringwood with Sorcha, her mother and friends preparing for her marriage to Michael in Bournemouth.  The sun was shining brightly against the frost covered ground and trees perfectly complimenting the wintery theme of this lovely wedding.   With all the beautiful bridesmaids ready they leave with Sorcha’s mother in the classic VW Camper for Langtry Manor where Michael and all the wedding guests are assembling for the ceremony.  Earle has had a busy morning with photographing Michael and all their friends arriving.  As soon as the VW arrives back in Ringwood Sorcha and her father are ready to climb into it and off they go!

With the very moving ceremony completed and all the formalities done Mr and Mrs Michael Davis are congratulated by one and all!  We managed to work through the ‘formal’ photography quickly making sure no one was kept outside unnecessarily before racing off to the beach with Sorcha and Michael for some fun images of the two of them together enjoying some ‘together’ time.  The afternoon had become chilly and a little blustery so the walkers on the beach were surprised and thrilled to see a bride and groom strutting their stuff oblivious to the wintery conditions.

The Edwardian banquet layed on back at Langtry Manor was just about ready when we returned and immediately after this everyone moved across to the party and cutting of the magnificent wedding cake.

Earle and I send our sincere congratulations to Sorcha and Michael on their marriage and also to their lovely bridesmaids who were quite magnificent all day long…..of course the chaps were just outstanding too!!!

Witchampton Soapbox Racing

Filed under personal work • Written by earle @ 11:40 am

So, after making it through Christmas day Will and I decided to head off to Witchampton (Dorset) to watch the Soapbox Racing which is an annual event in the village. After the first round the racers were obviously taking more risks to improve their times, the resultant crashes were funny and not too disasterous!!! It was a good laugh, i think we want to enter next year….

  1. hehe lovin the wheel barrow and the wurzel driving it! Mind you Jack Sparrow and his vessel is cutting quite a dash too!!:-)
